"Not all classrooms have four walls."
My heart is full, knowing that Dong Thap University will never be seen nor heard in the same way from my perspective. I remember, and will continue to remember, everything—from the place to the culture, to the people, to the great memories we all shared. It is never goodbye; just see you later.
Dong Thap University welcomed us with warmth and hospitality. From the moment I stepped foot in DthU, I felt safe and secure, a place that feels like home. Some may think I'm exaggerating, but I want to assure you that this trip has been nothing but meaningful to my life, both personally and professionally.
This trip not only allowed me to embrace diversity, gain new perspectives, enjoy the views, try local cuisines, learn about historical wonders, and get thrilled in exploring the unknown; it healed me in so many ways. What I love most about this trip is how it taught me about taking risks, appreciating opportunities, growing and expanding connections.
When you are far away from the people you know and the places you completely recognize and memorize, you humble yourself and see the world in a different way. You become a blank slate who sees how vast and diverse the world is. They say the absence of the familiar makes you appreciate how unique each moment and each encounter is.
In this trip, I learned resilience and adaptability. It taught me to know things on my own, face challenges with an open mind and heart, and the willingness to push through. I discovered my strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, it helped me reflect for self-discovery. I remembered how I got scared, but thankfully, what I give gratefulness to the Lord for is allowing me to say yes to this once in a lifetime opportunity. And the people I met along the way? Who would have thought that strangers will become my temporary family? I am happy to have met good people, see my growth as a person, and deeply embrace the fire in my heart that continues to ignite to become the best teacher I can be.
Indeed, not all classrooms have four walls. Every place is an opportunity to learn.
